Don Cherry - Music / Sangam
17 November 2025
One of Don Cherry's most elusive and important albums, recorded during a key phase in his artistic journey and long out of print — known mainly to the lucky few who owned the original vinyl now got a repress!
It's a remarkable collaboration with Indian percussionist Ustad Ahmed Latif Khan, produced by Martin Meissonnier and Pierre Lattès. Though the two had never met before entering the studio, their musical connection was instant — Cherry’s exploratory trumpet and array of global instruments meeting Khan’s intricate, syncopated tabla rhythms in a dialogue that feels spontaneous yet deeply attuned.
